Christians have a special calling to disciple others. Discipling goes beyond witnessing to include nurturing of a new believers faith and the guidance of that new believer into maturity. The Great Commission in Mathew 28:19-20 states, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” While much effort goes into a discipling relationship, there are great benefits for it. Consider these words of Christ in Matthew 12:50: “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
