On February 1, 2003, Steve Taylor joined the Lakeside staff as Minister to Middle Adults. He accepted his current position of Minister of Adult Discipleship on August 8, 2005. Steve is a native of the Birmingham area and a graduate of Tarrant High School and Samford University. Steve retired from Bellsouth in 1996 and has over 30 years experience as a computer programmer.
Steve's passion has been working with and starting new churches. Steve and his wife, Janice, have helped start four churches in the Shelby Baptist Association. Steve has over 20 years experience working with the educational organization for these churches. Steve has previously served in the Shelby Baptist Association at Riverside Baptist, North Shelby Baptist, Westwood Baptist (Alabaster), and Riverchase Baptist.
Steve and Janice have been married for 34 years. They have been blessed with two children and two grandsons. Steve's hobbies include baseball, high school football. and teaching Biblical studies classes.
