Christians have a special calling to disciple others. Discipling goes beyond witnessing to include nurturing of a new believers faith and the guidance of that new believer into maturity. The Great Commission in Mathew 28:19-20 states, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” While much effort goes into a discipling relationship, there are great benefits for it. Consider these words of Christ in Matthew 12:50: “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
