 Girls In Action is a missions organization for girls in grades 1 through 5. Through Girls in Actiond, we learn what Missionaries do, Pray for missionaries and their work, Discover how we can help other people, Save and give our money to help tell other people about Jesus, Learn about people around the World, and have fun with friends!
Girls in Action is a part of something big called WMU or Woman's Missionary Union. WMU began more than 100 years ago. The purpose of WMU is to promote and support missions. Missions is working together to tell others about Jesus. Missionaries tell us that praying is the most important thing GA's can do to help the cause of missions. Each week, GA's pray for the missionary featured during the GA meeting. In addition, they pray for the missionary on the Prayer Calendar who celebrates a birthday. Often, GA members write notes of encouragement and send birthday greetings to missionaries. The Bible says God loves a cheerful giver. Members of Girls in Action eagerly share their money to help missions. Twice during the year, GA's give to offerings for missions in the United States and Around the World. The offerings are named for two special women. Annie Armstrong who was a leader of Woman's Missionary Union and Lottie Moon who was a missionary in China.
